Job Description:

Summary of Key Functions:

  • Technical monitoring of the project with timely transmission of reports to management and donors.
  • Facilitation of knowledge building and sharing.
  • Proper archiving of intermediary reports for filing and audit purposes.
  • Identification of best practices and lessons learned for effective reporting and documentation strategy implementation.
  • Providing constructive feedback to management and field teams to enhance project implementation.

Key Relations:

Internal: DCD-P, PQ Coordinator, MEL Manager, Program Coordinator, Project Manager, project staff, support staff, DPMs, Project supervisors, M&R office, and other CARE AFG projects.

External: Government sectoral departments (MOPH, MOEC, MRRD, MAIL) and partner organizations like ABADEI.

Duty Locations:

Kabul with travel to provinces.

Key Results Expected:

Report Writing (60%):

  • Lead in writing comprehensive Project Reports, capturing project progress against the Results Framework, including success stories, achievements, lessons learned, risks, and issues.
  • Produce quality reports for target groups in a timely manner, meeting reporting timelines.
  • Serve as a focal point for reports to donors and other stakeholders.
  • Support and advise provincial teams in terms of reports according to donor recommendations and reporting requirements.
  • Systemize and ensure reports meet donor requirements and align with the results framework.
  • Collaborate with the Monitoring and Evaluation team to incorporate M&E data into reports.
  • Work closely with the Finance Department to ensure financial reports align with contracts.

Documentation (40%):

  • Draft and finalize various documents and reports, such as weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports, success stories, and training modules.
  • Review, edit, and format documents produced by the program, ensuring compliance with CARE and UNDP standards.
  • Provide quality control over writing, editing, formatting, graphic content, and translation for formal documents.
  • Assist and train staff to produce accurate, clear, and concise written products.

Job Requirements:

Competence:

Enthusiasm for the job, excellent analytical skills, project management skills, and the ability to work in challenging field conditions.

Willingness to travel as per project requirements, a self-starter, and experienced in managing and communicating professionally.

Skills and Experience:

Good command of English, narrative and analytical report writing skills, data analysis ability.

Proficient in MS Office, general management knowledge, filing, and documentation skills.

Strong interpersonal skills, cultural and gender sensitivity, teamwork, and the ability to establish a conducive working environment.

Education:

Master’s degree in management science, business administration, monitoring and evaluation, development studies, or related fields.

Work Experience:

Minimum 5 to 7 years of work experience in project management, monitoring, reporting, documentation, and knowledge management.

Language Skills:

Excellent written and oral communication in English, Dari, and Pashto.
