Established in 2011 and registered with the Ministry of Economy, Government of Afghanistan, New Way Social & Development Organization is dedicated to development, advocacy, and humanitarian efforts. Operating from Kabul, with programming hubs in northern and northeastern provinces, we empower communities affected by war, poverty, and injustice through integrated development strategies.

Job Description:

  1. As a Project Officer, you will play a pivotal role in the success of our projects. Your responsibilities include:
  2. Developing and updating provincial work plans and budgets for project activities.
  3. Providing practical and technical follow-up to ensure project sustainability and impact.
  4. Coordinating and managing project activities, including training, improvement of TVET centers, and private sector partnerships.
  5. Establishing strong relationships with government authorities, private sector actors, and other stakeholders.
  6. Integrating cross-cutting issues like gender equality and social cohesion into project activities.
  7. Providing technical and administrative support to project staff, partners, and beneficiaries.
  8. Monitoring and evaluating project progress and outcomes using quantitative and qualitative data.
  9. Preparing and submitting regular reports on project activities, achievements, challenges, and lessons learned.
  10. Participating in project coordination and learning events, sharing provincial perspectives.
  11. Communicating and engaging with stakeholders, including the donor, government, TVET institutions, and the private sector.
  12. Submitting project deliverables to the Project Manager, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
  13. Tracking project costs to meet the budget and coordinating with the Project Manager.
  14. Identifying and resolving issues and conflicts within the project team.
  15. Participating in relevant meetings at the provincial level.
  16. Developing effective project communication plans and ensuring their execution.
  17. Facilitating change requests and keeping all parties informed of impacts on schedule and budget.
  18. Performing other duties as directed by the Project Manager/Program Department.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Business Administration, Management, Economics, or a related field. Knowledge of project management is an asset.
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in managing Education/TVET projects.
  • Knowledge and skills in TVET training, competency standards, TVET facilities, equipment, and private sector support.
  • Excellent leadership, management, and communication skills.
  • Analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to adapt to changing situations.
  • Excellent report writing skills for internal management and external reporting to the donor.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken. Knowledge of Dari and/or Pashto is an asset.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and other relevant project management software applications.
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently to project sites in Parwan Province.
