Job Description:

  1. As a Project Manager, you will play a vital role in ensuring the success of our Education/TVET projects. Key responsibilities include:
  2. Develop and update provincial work plans and budgets in consultation with the project manager and program lead.
  3. Coordinate and manage project activities in the province, ensuring alignment with work plans, budgets, and quality standards.
  4. Establish and maintain strong relationships with government authorities, private sector actors, civil society organizations, beneficiaries, and other stakeholders.
  5. Integrate cross-cutting issues such as gender equality, women’s empowerment, and social cohesion in all project activities.
  6. Provide technical and administrative support to project staff, partners, and beneficiaries.
  7. Monitor and evaluate project progress and outcomes using quantitative and qualitative data, indicators, and tools.
  8. Prepare and submit regular and timely reports on project activities, achievements, challenges, and lessons learned.
  9. Participate in project coordination and learning events, sharing provincial perspectives and insights.
  10. Communicate and engage with donors, government, TVET institutions, private sector, and other stakeholders.
  11. Submit project deliverables to Project Manager, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
  12. Track project costs to meet the budget and coordinate with the Project Manager.
  13. Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team.
  14. Develop effective project communication plans and ensure their execution.
  15. Facilitate change requests to inform all parties of impacts on schedule and budget.
  16. Undertake any other duties directed by the Project Manager/Program Department.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Business Administration, Management, Economics, or a related field. Knowledge of project management is an asset.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in managing Education/TVET projects.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills in TVET training, competency standards, TVET facilities, and equipment.
  • Excellent leadership, management, and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent report writing skills for internal management and external reporting to the donor.
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken). Knowledge of Dari and/or Pashto is an asset.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and relevant project management software applications.
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently to project sites in Parwan Province.
