Job Description:

Job Overview:

As a Project Manager at New Way Social & Development Organization, you will lead the planning, implementation, and supervision of projects in alignment with approved project documents, work plans, and budgets. This role involves managing project teams, coordinating with partners, building relationships with stakeholders, and ensuring a participatory and community-based approach. The Project Manager will be responsible for monitoring progress, preparing reports, addressing challenges, and facilitating collaboration among project teams and stakeholders.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Lead planning, implementation, and supervision of project activities as per approved documents, work plans, and budget.
  2. Manage the project team, ensuring clear roles, effective communication, and coordination.
  3. Establish strong working relationships with government authorities, private sector actors, civil society organizations, and beneficiaries.
  4. Ensure a participatory, community-based, and market-driven approach in project activities.
  5. Supervise activities in Herat and coordinate projects in Herat, Parwan, and Kabul provinces.
  6. Integrate cross-cutting issues such as gender equality, women’s empowerment, and social cohesion into all project activities.
  7. Monitor project progress against agreed indicators, targets, and milestones using appropriate tools and methods.
  8. Prepare regular narrative reports on project activities, achievements, challenges, and lessons learned.
  9. Identify potential risks and develop mitigation measures and contingency plans.
  10. Supervise, monitor, and follow up with the project team’s activities and operations.
  11. Conduct weekly staff meetings for better coordination, implementation, and issue resolution.
  12. Facilitate learning and knowledge sharing among the project team, partners, and stakeholders.
  13. Engage with the donor, government, TVET institutions, private sector, and other stakeholders.
  14. Attend sectoral meetings and present NSDO’s operations within the context of the project.
  15. Perform any other tasks assigned by the Program Manager.

Job Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in education, Business Administration, Management, economics, or related field.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in managing complex and large-scale projects.
  • Knowledge of TVET training, competency standards, TVET facilities, and private sector support.
  • Excellent leadership, management, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in English, both written and spoken. Knowledge of Dari and/or Pashto is an asset.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and other relevant project management software.
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently to project sites in Kabul, Parwan, and Herat Provinces.

Candidates should be current residents of the mentioned duty station.
