New Way Social & Development Organization, established in 2011 and registered with the Ministry of Economy, Government of Afghanistan, is a development, advocacy, and humanitarian organization. Operating from Kabul, with programming hubs across north and northeastern provinces, the organization is dedicated to empowering vulnerable communities impacted by war, natural calamities, poverty, and injustice.

Job Description:

As the MEAL Officer for Kabul and Parwan Provinces, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the quality of project implementation. Your responsibilities include strategic planning, overseeing data collection, analysis, timely reporting, and contributing to project reviews. Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and coordinate strategic technical and operational planning for all MEAL processes in Kabul and Parwan Provinces.
  2. Ensure effective monitoring and performance management to achieve program activity targets.
  3. Oversee data collection, compilation, analysis, and timely reporting per the M&E Plan.
  4. Prepare reports on findings and lessons learned from project innovations.
  5. Assist in regular project reviews, contributing to content and facilitation.
  6. Lead the development of data collection tools for quantitative and qualitative research.
  7. Plan and conduct field data collection, monitoring surveys, and scoping.
  8. Track progress, promote M&E standards, and provide technical support to provincial staff.
  9. Implement and coordinate all M&E activities, including internal and third-party evaluations.
  10. Lead the preparation of analytical documents synthesizing activity results.
  11. Develop and revise the M&E plan, including indicator selection and reporting templates.
  12. Conduct field-based needs assessments, gap analyses, risk, and vulnerability assessments.
  13. Prepare case studies, success stories, and reports based on M&E findings.
  14. Undertake regular interviews with project populations, collecting feedback for improvements.
  15. Ensure compliance with organizational rules, regulations, and anti-harassment policies.
  16. Perform other duties as assigned by the MEAL Manager and leadership.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Business Administration or related field.
  • 2 to 3 years of relevant working experience.
  • Recognized M&E certificate is an asset.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in local languages and English.
  • Knowledge of cultural and religious sensitivities.
  • Proficiency in MS Word and MS PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
