About New Way Social and Development Organization (NSDO):

Established in 2011 and registered with the Ministry of Economy, Government of Afghanistan, NSDO is a Kabul-based development, advocacy, and humanitarian organization. Operating across northern and northeastern provinces, NSDO aims to empower vulnerable communities affected by war, natural calamities, poverty, and injustice. The organization focuses on integrated development, addressing socio-economic, cultural, and good governance aspects. NSDO’s core strategy involves Community Empowerment, engaging with grass-root groups to tackle the root causes of poverty and injustice.

Job Description:

Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning:

  • Lead and coordinate the strategic planning and implementation of MEAL processes to enhance project quality.

Monitoring and Performance Management:

  • Ensure effective monitoring and performance management for achieving program activity targets.
  • Oversee data collection, compilation, analysis, and timely reporting per the M&E Plan.

Reports and Lessons Learned:

  • Prepare reports on project findings and document lessons learned from innovations.

Project Reviews:

  • Assist the MEAL Manager in preparing and conducting regular project reviews.

Data Analysis and Discussions:

  • Check and ensure monitoring data discussions in appropriate forums, initiating discussions when necessary.

Field Visits:

  • Conduct regular field visits, reporting updates to the MEAL manager.

Data Collection Tools:

  • Lead the development of data collection tools for quantitative and qualitative research.

Bid Preparation and Analysis:

  • Prepare bid forms, analyze bids, and rise purchase orders after approval.

Complaints/Feedback Handling:

  • Collaborate with the MEAL Manager to track and register complaints/feedback from project beneficiaries.

Log Frame Matrix and Capacity Building:

  • Assist in the revision of the project log frame matrix.
  • Develop a plan for project-related capacity-building on M&E.

Progress Reporting and Evaluation:

  • Track progress, support progress reporting, and participate in project evaluations.

Case Studies and Presentations:

  • Identify lessons learned, develop case studies, and prepare presentations based on M&E data.

Internal Controls and Sustainability:

  • Ensure internal controls, minimize fraud, corruption, and diversion.
  • Monitor the sustainability of project results.

Feedback to Project Management:

  • Provide feedback to the Project Manager on project strategies and activities.

Efficiency Improvement:

  • Suggest strategies for improving project efficiency and effectiveness.

Job Requirements:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in local languages and English.
  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Business Administration or related field.
  • Recognized M&E certificate is an asset.
  • 2 to 3 years of relevant working experience.
  • Knowledge of cultural and religious sensitivities and values.
  • Compliance with organizational rules, regulations, and anti-harassment policy.
  • Morally and disciplinary fit for the job.
  • Good knowledge and skills in computer applications, particularly MS Word and MS PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
