Job Description:

Green Social Research Organization (GSRO) seeks a dedicated and experienced Agriculture Trainer Specialist to join our team. In this role, you’ll be instrumental in promoting climate-smart agricultural practices among smallholder farmers in Zindajan District, contributing to improved livelihoods and climate change resilience.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Awareness Raising Sessions:

  • Deliver engaging awareness sessions to smallholder farmers, emphasizing the benefits of climate-smart agricultural practices.
  • Utilize various communication methods to effectively convey key messages and encourage behavior change.

2. Training Program Development:

  • Develop comprehensive training materials on climate-smart agricultural practices, tailored to the specific needs of smallholder farmers.
  • Cover areas such as water-efficient irrigation, soil conservation, crop diversification, and agroforestry.

3. Training Delivery:

  • Conduct interactive training workshops for farmers, ensuring effective knowledge transfer and practical skill development.
  • Provide guidance and support to farmers in implementing climate-smart practices on their farms.

4. Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of training sessions, including participant details, topics covered, and evaluation results.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports on training activities, including progress, challenges, and recommendations.

5. Collaboration and Teamwork:

  • Collaborate with project team members, extension workers, and community engagement specialists for a coordinated approach to farmer training.
Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in agriculture.
  • Proven experience in designing and delivering training programs in agriculture.
  • In-depth knowledge of climate-smart agricultural practices.
  • Strong facilitation and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in relevant computer applications and technology.
