About Dutch Committee for Afghanistan (DCA):

DCA, present in Afghanistan since 1988, focuses on enhancing the resilience of herders and pastoralist communities for long-term, inclusive development. Currently implementing diverse livestock development and humanitarian programs in 15 provinces, DCA has positively impacted over 586,000 vulnerable Afghans in building resilience.

DCA’s mission is to reduce poverty and enhance food security in Afghanistan by protecting livelihood assets and building resilience. With a focus on food security, livelihood improvement, extension, value chain development, and institutional capacities, DCA’s approach intertwines humanitarian, development, and peacebuilding efforts. Project Background:

Agriculture and livestock activities directly impact 80% of the rural population, driving transformation and inclusive growth. To address challenges like feed shortages, limited animal health services, and market failures, DCA aims to safeguard livelihoods, diversify food intake, and stimulate private sector development. The project focuses on empowering women, rural youth, minorities, and the less-abled in an environmentally sensitive manner.

  • Job Description: Regional Hub Coordinator

General Position Summary:

The Regional Hub Coordinator will serve as DCA’s Regional Representative, overseeing all project activities in the assigned regional hub and related provinces. Reporting to the Project Manager and guided by the Deputy Program Director and Program Director, the coordinator will play a crucial role in project coordination and implementation.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate all outcomes, outputs, and activities of projects in the assigned regional hub.
  • Actively represent DCA in regional and provincial meetings organized by the government and other stakeholders.
  • Conduct field assessments, including baseline surveys, needs assessments, and project progress evaluations.
  • Supervise program, operations, and financial activities in the region.
  • Lead and supervise field facilitators and community mobilizers.
  • Conduct and lead various project activities, including training sessions, establishment of VFUs, support for existing VFUs, and more.
  • Ensure the security and safety of regional and related provincial staff.
  • Foster productive communication with local authorities and customary institutions for the smooth implementation of the project.
  • Establish close relationships with targeted communities.
  • Share innovative thoughts and ideas for the betterment of project activities.
  • Ensure proper project implementation according to the plan.

Job Requirements:

  • MVSC, DVM, Animal Science Specialist, or similar degrees.
  • 7 years of work experience in project coordination among humanitarian organizations.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Teamwork, team-building, and management skills.
  • Excellent verbal/written knowledge of Pashto, Dari, and English.
  • Good time management and planning skills.
  • Report writing skills.
  • Computer skills.
  • Ability to travel within targeted locations.
