Job Description:
Green Social Research Organization (GSRO) seeks a dedicated and experienced Agriculture Trainer Specialist to join our team. In this role, you’ll be instrumental in promoting climate-smart agricultural practices among smallholder farmers in Zindajan District, contributing to improved livelihoods and climate change resilience.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Awareness Raising Sessions:
- Deliver engaging awareness sessions to smallholder farmers, emphasizing the benefits of climate-smart agricultural practices.
- Utilize various communication methods to effectively convey key messages and encourage behavior change.
2. Training Program Development:
- Develop comprehensive training materials on climate-smart agricultural practices, tailored to the specific needs of smallholder farmers.
- Cover areas such as water-efficient irrigation, soil conservation, crop diversification, and agroforestry.
3. Training Delivery:
- Conduct interactive training workshops for farmers, ensuring effective knowledge transfer and practical skill development.
- Provide guidance and support to farmers in implementing climate-smart practices on their farms.
4. Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of training sessions, including participant details, topics covered, and evaluation results.
- Prepare comprehensive reports on training activities, including progress, challenges, and recommendations.
5. Collaboration and Teamwork:
- Collaborate with project team members, extension workers, and community engagement specialists for a coordinated approach to farmer training.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in agriculture.
- Proven experience in designing and delivering training programs in agriculture.
- In-depth knowledge of climate-smart agricultural practices.
- Strong facilitation and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in relevant computer applications and technology.
