Job Description:
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical leadership in conducting various child protection assessments and research.
- Manage diverse child protection programs funded from various sources, ensuring holistic support without duplication.
- Develop and monitor work plans, presenting monthly progress reports to supervisors and donors.
- Ensure effective documentation of programs, capturing lessons learned and best practices.
- Collaborate with the monitoring and evaluation team to store, analyze, and use child protection-related information.
- Foster children’s meaningful participation, enabling them to address concerns at local, regional, and national levels.
- Prepare project budgets, monitor spending plans, and provide financial reports in coordination with the finance unit.
- Conduct capacity-building needs assessments for the child protection team and implement a capacity-building strategy.
- Mobilize internal and external resources for technical knowledge management and quality technical assistance.
- Develop and deliver specific child protection and PSEA (Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse) trainings for the implementation team.
- Prepare concept papers and proposals for child protection projects.
- Review program documents and implementation plans, ensuring integration of child protection issues and rights approaches.
- Represent KRO in local and national child protection forums.
- Represent KRO in protection clusters and working groups on protection.
- Develop proposals for child protection emergency appeals and lead child protection sub-clusters if needed.
- Collaborate with partners to ensure children’s rights are considered in legislation and institution-building processes.
- Report any child protection concerns related to KRO staff or consultants to supervisors.
- Adhere to KRO’s code of conduct and report breaches promptly.
- Build constructive working relationships with partners based on KRO’s principles.
- Ensure timely coordination with Senior Management of KRO on program implementation progress.
- Conduct regular joint visits to project implementation provinces and provide feedback based on findings.
- Ensure adoption of best practices for quality program implementation.
- Actively participate in knowledge exchange and learning sessions for team members’ capacity building.
- Equip project staff with monitoring and evaluation systems for effective implementation.
- Implement action plans from quality monitoring and accountability systems.
- Contribute to generating lessons through operations research and participate in lessons learned workshops.
- Ensure project reporting against the M&E Plan.

Job Requirements:
- 5 years of project management experience, preferably in a development setting with a focus on Child Protection.
- Relevant university degree (preferably MA) in social work, social sciences, or a relevant field.
- Excellent knowledge and skills in child rights, child protection, and community development, especially in emergencies.
- Experience in remote management in complex settings.
- Capacity to coordinate and coach staff in Child Protection skills and program management.
- Commitment to working through community participation and accountability systems.
- Strong knowledge of child protection principles, international standards, and best practices.
- Familiarity with the context and cultural dynamics of Zabul Province is desirable.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills in English, Pashto, and Dari.
