Job Description:

Job Summary:

The PSS Counsellor plays a vital role as a dedicated professional providing comprehensive psycho-social counseling to patients. Responsibilities include screening, identifying, and triaging individuals with mental health issues, using standardized scales to determine severity. The PSS Counsellor conducts counseling sessions in a comfortable and private environment, ensuring patient well-being.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop a field activities plan in coordination with the project medical doctor.
  • Identify and assess children, women, and girls for psychosocial support in targeted communities.
  • Schedule and conduct field meetings with CDC heads, women leaders, parents, and other beneficiaries.
  • Implement psychosocial predeveloped training plans in target communities.
  • Establish a referral system for cases requiring further PSS support or other services.
  • Provide context-related PSS support at individual, family, and community levels.
  • Conduct psychosocial group activities tailored to specific needs and capacities.
  • Collaborate with faith leaders and relevant authorities to implement psychosocial activities.
  • Support social mobilizers in conducting awareness sessions for project beneficiaries.
  • Undertake any other project-related tasks assigned by the project officer.

Bachelor’s in Psychology
