About New Way Social and Development Organization:

New Way Social & Development Organization (NSDO), established in 2011 and registered with the Ministry of Economy, Government of Afghanistan, is a Kabul-based development, advocacy, and humanitarian organization. NSDO operates across the north and northeastern provinces of Afghanistan, empowering vulnerable and marginalized communities affected by war, natural calamities, poverty, and injustice. The organization is committed to integrated development, encompassing socio-economic, cultural, and good governance aspects, with community empowerment at its core.

Job Description:

Key Areas of Accountability:

Partnership Strategy:

  • Lead the implementation of the organization’s Planning and Partnership Strategy, aligned with the Global Partnership Framework.
  • Participate in Partnership Working Groups to support strategy development and operationalization.
  • Develop systematic approaches to map partners, identify strategic partnerships, and engage with NSDO partnership communities of practice.

Partnership Systems and Policies:

  • Work across departments to develop supportive systems and policies for the Planning and Partnership Strategy.
  • Review and improve partnership management practices and support strategic planning, program design, and proposal development.
  • Establish and maintain a partnership database mapping partner capacity and ensure communication frameworks are standardized.

Establishing Partnerships:

  • Assess the current partnership portfolio, identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and risks.
  • Identify and explore new partnerships, update partnership mapping, and establish relationships for collaborative programming.
  • Act as NSDO’s focal point for due diligence and capacity assessment conducted by donors and partners.

Partner Program Management:

  • Develop and coordinate partner programming management and monitoring systems.
  • Ensure partnership tools and financial standards meet donor requirements.
  • Track technical, operational, finance, HR, or grants issues and facilitate support from relevant NSDO teams.

Partnership Management and Capacity Development:

  • Coordinate processes between Donors/partners and NSDO staff.
  • Conduct partner organizational capacity assessments, provide training and capacity strengthening support.
  • Foster mutual respect and learning relationships with donors, address partnership-related feedback.
  • Facilitate partner feedback and continuous improvement in partnership effectiveness.

Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning:

  • Coordinate with the MEAL team to develop and implement M&E tools and systems for partners.
  • Ensure mutual learning with donors/partners regarding program delivery and partnership building.
  • Analyze ongoing partnerships, remote management, and ground results to produce lessons learned for strategic decision-making.

Job Requirements:

  • Postgraduate or master’s degree in international relations, Social Sciences, project management, or a relevant field.
  • Minimum 5 years of work experience in the development/humanitarian sector/NGOs, with at least 2 years in partnership-based programming.
  • Strong skills and experience in program cycle management, design, development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.
  • Excellent presentation, training, facilitation, and capacity-building skills.
  • Proven field-level representation with key stakeholders and coordination with other NGOs.
  • Commitment to participatory approaches, strong analytical and conceptual skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with a high level of proficiency in English.
