About New Way Social and Development Organization (NSDO):

Established in 2011 and registered with the Ministry of Economy, Government of Afghanistan, NSDO is a Kabul-based development, advocacy, and humanitarian organization. Operating across the north and northeastern provinces, NSDO is dedicated to empowering vulnerable and marginalized communities affected by war, natural calamities, poverty, and injustice. Job Description:

Responsibilities:

Relationship Management:

  • Create and maintain positive relationships with all departments, vendors, and suppliers.

Procurement:

  • Fully responsible for purchasing and procuring goods/services, adhering to procurement policies and manager instructions.
  • Execute the contracting process transparently, from PR to GRN (Goods Receipt Note).

Purchase and Delivery:

  • Purchase based on approved PRs and ensure the timely delivery of purchased goods to the related department.

Quotation Process:

  • Obtain quotes for purchasing items or services, with quotes being mandatory for high-priced items (based on procurement policy thresholds).
  • Ensure the presence of a 3-member obtaining quote committee during the quotation process.
  • Ensure all quotes are received in a sealed manner.

Bid Process:

  • Prepare bid forms based on bid evaluations, obtain committee signatures, and initiate further required processes.
  • After bid approval, analyze and raise Purchase Orders (POs) to suppliers and service providers.

Documentation and Record Keeping:

  • Prepare all procurement documents, including PRs, POs, Quotes, Bids, Contracts, log books, and reports.
  • Check documents thoroughly before sending to the main office in Kabul.

Inventory Management:

  • Conduct regular stock record maintenance, including IN/OUT records and monthly reports.
  • Manage the inventory and keep proper records of assets, reporting to the procurement manager.

Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure that purchased products and supplies meet high-quality standards.

Office and Car Management:

  • Manage office facilities and rental cars, including fuel usage, maintenance, etc.

Participation:

  • Participate in obtaining quotations and any other tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Job Requirements:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in local languages and English.
  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Business Administration or a related field.
  • 3 to 4 years of relevant working experience.
  • Full knowledge of cultural and religious sensitivities and values.
  • Compliance with organizational rules and regulations, including the anti-harassment policy.
  • Morally and disciplinary fit for the job.
  • Good knowledge and skills in computer applications, particularly MS Word and MS PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
