Job Description:

A. Financial Transaction Management:

  • Record financial vouchers meticulously in WVA online logs.
  • Communicate promptly with staff for voucher completion and supporting documents.
  • Classify transactions accurately, applying appropriate coding.
  • Review uploaded transactions for completeness and readiness for posting.
  • Accrue transactions promptly and prepare adjustments when necessary.
  • Ensure timely and accurate updating of ageing reports for respective zones.
  • Analyze complex transactions, making system adjustments as required.
  • Conduct monthly reviews for data accuracy and completeness.
  • Reconcile physical vouchers with posted transactions.
  • Create invoices, attach supporting documents, and coordinate timely payments.

B. Filing, Record Keeping, and Scanning:

  • File all correspondence with the government, especially with tax authorities.
  • File original vendor invoices, tax payment orders, transfers, and TINs.
  • Scan financial vouchers, invoices, and archive in a shared point, including audit reports and legal documents.
  • Weekly backup of scanned copies on the hard drive.
  • Report scanning progress at the zonal office.
  • Collect and fill manual LDRs for audit purposes.
  • Facilitate requested supporting documents to the audit.
  • Review support documents for compliance before submitting to the audit.
  • Request share cost-related documents from the R&A unit and share with the audit.
  • Ensure timely update to the finance team and supervisor on document submission.

C. Perform Other Assignments as Needed:

Implement internal control procedures rigorously, reporting any weaknesses to the supervisor for correction.

Perform duties as requested by AP TL or Finance Director.

Job Requirements:

Experience:

Minimum 3 years of accounting experience with medium business/medium NGO/government agency.

Humanitarian aid experience in-country is a plus.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, economy, or a related field preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Credible certification in accounting.
  • Practical knowledge of financial systems, budget/cash flow monitoring, and internal accounting controls.
  • Computer aptitude with experience in word processing, database management, and spreadsheet software.
  • Analytical skills with good attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English and local language.
  • Knowledge of MS Office, Lotus Notes, and computerized accounting systems.
  • Flexibility to travel to zonal offices when required.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to work overtime when workload demands and meet year-end deadlines.

Language Requirements:

Proficient in English both in oral and in writing.
