About the Job:
As a Finance Officer at DRC, your role is crucial in setting up and maintaining financial administration in accordance with the DRC Operational Handbook. You will support the Finance Manager with budget development, monitoring, and financial reporting. Ensuring compliance with local laws is integral to this position.
Responsibilities:
Accounting, Documentation / Vouchers:
Conduct finance reviews, examining supporting documents in Dynamics and assisting other finance team members.
Collaborate with Admin, Logistics, and Procurement departments to ensure timely and documented payments to suppliers.
Ensure field vouchers comply with Compliance Tools (CTs) of DRC Operations Handbook (OH).
Assist in the review of financial journals, shared cost allocations, and month/year-end closure processes.
Financial Management:
Work closely with the Finance Manager to maintain an updated master budget.
Assist in budget preparation, donor/government reporting, and set up the project budget structure in the system.
Represent financial aspects in Grants Opening, Monthly Review, and Closure meetings.
Review Budget Follow-Ups (BFUs) for projects and initiate required rebooking of support lines.
External Contacts:
Liaise with DRC sub-offices on financial matters.
Conduct financial management/accounting training for Area Offices (AOs) teams.
Establish connections with HQ and MOF as required.
Audit:
Support the finance department during audits and verifications.
Other Duties:
Perform any other duties as assigned by the Finance Manager.
Job Requirements:
About You:
- To be successful in this role, you must have:
- Five years of relevant experience, preferably in an international organization.
- Competence in accounting and controlling.
- Ability to translate accounting issues into manageable solutions.
- Familiarity with operational aspects of donor projects.
- BBA or equivalent qualification.
- Proficiency in English.
