Job Description:

  • As a Network Engineer at Etisalat Afghanistan, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining various networks. Your responsibilities include:
  • Design, implement, and maintain Corporate Network (Wireless/Wired), GSM network, 2G, 3G, LTE, and ISP.
  • Update and maintain diagrams for EA Head office, flagships, SIS, ISP, GSM, 2G, 3G, LTE, and Enterprise customers.
  • Perform weekly health checks of critical services in EA’s network, including web filtering, main backbones, and sandvine.
  • Maintain an up-to-date inventory of Data Communication Network (DCN) hardware and software.
  • Manage and maintain monthly backups of DCN Network Elements (Routers, switches, firewalls, sandvine, etc.).
  • Verify new projects, ISP customers, and configuration of 2G, 3G, LTE sites.
  • Provide support in network analysis to enhance performance quality, reliability, and consistency of EA’s network, recommending necessary actions.
  • Prepare detailed reports on audits, analysis, and evaluations of existing network infrastructures, practices, and processes.
  • Assist in budgetary control, resource planning, allocation, and coordination.
  • Coordinate with vendors and end-users for smooth network operations.
  • Offer 24/7 technical support for the evaluation, test-running, troubleshooting, monitoring, reviewing, maintaining, and upgrading of systems.
  • Assist in modifying DCN procedures to enhance efficient network utilization.
  • Provide recommendations for appropriate systems interventions/enhancements.
  • Assist the Manager in defining performance parameters for the DCN unit.
  • Compile and present technical/operational reports for superiors as required.
  • Perform modifications and enhancements to existing systems (processes, procedures, etc.).
  • Prepare analysis and provide support in implementation.

Job Requirements:

Bachelor of Computer Science with three years of relevant experience.
