HHOA envisions a future where education is accessible to everyone, emphasizing progress in the education sector in Afghanistan. Despite significant achievements, challenges persist, particularly for out-of-school children, with a focus on girls facing limited access to education in certain regions.

HHOA operates at the grassroots level, specializing in programs such as education, vocational skills training, child protection, gender-based violence, WASH in schools and communities, healthy communities, greening Afghanistan, and alternative livelihoods.

Job Description:

As the Project Manager for Basic General Literacy (BGL) courses in Logar province, you will lead and oversee all activities related to the provision of BGL courses. Your responsibilities include capacitating staff, delegating tasks, ensuring policy adherence, and coordinating with various stakeholders for smooth project implementation.

Responsibilities:

Leadership and Oversight:

  • Lead and oversee the activities of BGL courses, providing guidance and leadership.
  • Capacitate staff, delegate tasks, and supervise regularly to ensure effective implementation.

Policy Adherence:

  • Ensure that project activities align with policies, guidelines, and other relevant documentation.
  • Coordinate with Field Coordination Officer, operation, Councilor, and mobilizers for project alignment.

Communication and Reporting:

  • Establish a professional reporting channel and system among project staff at central and provincial levels.
  • Prepare evaluation reports with solid findings, recommendations, and conclusions for HHOA, MoE, and UNESCO.

Capacity Building:

  • Plan and design capacity-building plans for project staff.
  • Conduct quarterly evaluations and share feedback with HHOA management.

Project Implementation:

  • Assure that the Literacy Program is implemented as per agreements with donors and relevant authorities.
  • Develop tools and mechanisms for mapping, training, monitoring, and evaluation.

Data Analytics and Reporting:

  • Develop methodologies for data analytics tools and present reports, visualizations, and statistical graphs.
  • Perform any other assignments given by the board.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • University Degree in Education, Education Management, Law, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of proven work experience as a project manager in education projects in Afghanistan.
  • Demonstrated experience working with government entities, UN organizations, or international development agencies.
  • Proficiency in English and Dari/Pashto (written and spoken).
  • Knowledge of up-to-date trends and best practices in emergency support services.
