Job Overview:
The Program & Operation Coordinator is responsible for managing and executing programs in the North/Northeast regions under the supervision of the WAW Regional Manager. This role involves coordination, monitoring, and advocacy to ensure the protection and assistance of UNHCR persons of concern, including conflict-induced IDPs and refugee returnees.
JOB SUMMARY:
- Responsible for program management and execution in the N/NE regions.
- Engage with local authorities and humanitarian partners to promote protection and assistance to UNHCR persons of concern.
- Manage, coordinate, and monitor project activities, ensuring high-quality programming in line with UNHCR objectives.
ROLES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop cooperation with WAW departments, donors, authorities, stakeholders, institutions, and NGOs in the region.
- Promote a team spirit and focus on quality, staying updated on project and regional issues.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual plans to achieve project goals.
- Provide administrative support, including scheduling meetings, preparing communications, and compiling reports.
- Oversee filing systems for community-based protection monitoring projects.
- Supervise field and program staff, providing regular feedback for improvement.
- Support the implementation of UNHCR programs, addressing technical issues and monitoring activities.
- Ensure cost-effective operations in adherence to humanitarian principles and confidentiality.
- Build and maintain relationships with governmental and non-governmental actors.
- Coordinate with donors, INGO working groups, UN, local partners, and government and community actors.
- Ensure learning accompanies project activities, supporting accountability and reporting.
- Represent the organization at various levels.
- Coordinate activities for quality project implementation, including financial and human resource aspects.
- Identify staff capacity and technical assistance needs, contributing to capacity strengthening.
- Assist with trends analysis reports and project documentation reviews.
- Perform other tasks assigned by the Regional Manager and SMT.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree required; master’s degree strongly preferred.
- Minimum six years of relevant work experience.
- Staff supervision experience required.
- Experience with stakeholders at various levels and community partnerships.
- Ability to manage monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning systems (MEAL).
- Experience in data analysis and drafting program reports.
- Good knowledge of general operational principles.
- Fluency in English and Dari/Pashto, written and spoken.
- Computer skills at the operational level, mainly with MS Office Packages.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
