Job Description: Monitoring and Evaluation Officer

General Position Summary:

The Monitoring and Evaluation Officer is responsible for overseeing project progress and activities using specific M&E tools and techniques to ensure effective project implementation. This role operates under the direct supervision of the Deputy Director.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement project-specific M&E frameworks and data collection methodologies.
  • Supervise data collection, management, and quality assurance processes in alignment with project objectives.
  • Conduct field visits as per the M&E plan, facilitating periodic data collection.
  • Perform evaluations and impact assessments related to project interventions to gauge effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with donor requirements and ethical standards within the project scope.
  • Communicate project findings and progress to relevant stakeholders.
  • Document project processes, lessons learned, and best practices.
  • Identify and mitigate risks affecting project implementation.
  • Manage proper filing and documentation of M&E materials.
  • Establish effective feedback mechanisms for project beneficiaries and involved communities.
  • Integrate cross-cutting themes like gender and protection into M&E strategies to meet project goals.
  • Prepare comprehensive M&E reports to convey gathered data to program stakeholders.
  • Submit accurate and timely M&E reports to stakeholders to maintain transparency.
  • Undertake other tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Job Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of project implementation experience in Education organizations.
  • Prior experience in M&E is essential.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, teamwork, and management skills.
  • Proficiency in data management using open-source tools like Kobo Toolbox platform.
  • Fluency in Pashto, Dari, and English (verbal and written).
  • Strong time management, planning, and report writing skills.
  • Proficiency in computer applications.
  • Willingness to travel within targeted locations.
