Job Description:

General Position Summary:

The Livestock Support Trainer will report to the Project Manager, requiring knowledge of the dynamics in target districts of Herat province. The role involves close collaboration with the team of cash officers to ensure well-managed and targeted training.

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Implement the AHF livestock support training strategy to enhance the capacity of household farmers for long-term income generation.
  2. Coordinate training sessions with community members in Gulran, Obe, and Cheshte Sharif districts.
  3. Oversee and perform watering, feeding, and care of livestock.
  4. Respond to emergency situations involving livestock.
  5. Provide technical inputs in planning, organizing, and implementing operational plans for livestock activities.
  6. Facilitate the design of good livestock management practices and extension methodologies.
  7. Develop sustainable methodologies and techniques for assisting farmers in improving rural livelihoods.
  8. Facilitate the process of organizing farmer’s tool kits and distribution.
  9. Train focused farmers on livestock and poultry tools and techniques through FFS methodology.
  10. Ensure quality assurance of activities and inputs.
  11. Compile reports and document information in written or electronic form.

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Accountability:

Reports Directly To: Project Manager

Works Directly With: Cash Officer
