Job Description: Compliance Manager
The Compliance Manager at Akramzada International Ltd reports to the Board of Supervisor/Compliance Committee, overseeing the effective implementation of compliance policies and initiatives. They coordinate identification and management of the company’s compliance risks and supervise compliance functionaries. Responsibilities include providing guidance on compliance policy issues, conducting compliance risk assessments and reviews, and developing/maintaining the compliance policy framework.
Furthermore, the Compliance Manager maintains a liaison between the company’s top management and regulatory bodies, participates in discussions with regulators like the DAB, and monitors industry-wide developments, providing strategic guidance when necessary.
Key Duties:
- Keep Compliance Department staff updated on new/revised laws/regulations.
- Ensure thorough training (in collaboration with the Training Department) for Compliance Department and Branch staff on all compliance aspects.
- Maintain strong relationships with relevant Afghan entities and government bodies regarding compliance matters.
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the Compliance Department personnel.
- Review suspicious transaction reports, coordinate reporting requirements, and review operating procedures and policy manuals annually.
- Ensure adherence to relevant regulations and promptly report non-compliance to the board.
- Maintain up-to-date communication with regulators and provide regular reports on audits and observations.
Job Requirements:
Minimum Education:
Graduate from a recognized University (BBA from a reputable University)
Minimum Experience:
- 5 years of experience
- 3 years as a Compliance Manager in Banking Operations
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of compliance standards and regulations
- Excellent reporting and record-keeping skills
- Business acumen coupled with commitment to legal standards
- Methodical and diligent with exceptional planning capabilities
- Analytical mindset to comprehend complexities in procedures and regulations
- Proficient in Pashto/Dari with strong spoken and written English skills
- Ability to work under pressure, plan effectively, and communicate efficiently
- Competent in Microsoft Office Suite applications
