About Tabish Social Health Education Organization in Afghanistan
Tabish is a non-governmental and non-political humanitarian organization dedicated to fostering psycho-social health, education, capacity development, and community well-being in Afghanistan. Committed to adhering to both NGO regulations and governmental procedures sanctioned by the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan laws, Tabish was established and officially registered with the Ministry of Economy (Registration #1466) in 2009. Additionally, it gained registration with the Ministry of Public Health of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in 2012.
At present, Tabish focuses on providing vital support services such as mental health assistance, psychosocial aid, fundamental health and hygiene support, safe motherhood initiatives, and training for Community Health Workers (CHWs) and Traditional Birth Attendants (TBAs) within disadvantaged populations residing in Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps. In a continuous effort to expand its impact, Tabish intends to hire a Medical Doctor experienced in trauma care, particularly in Orthopedic Surgery, capable of leading first aid training for an upcoming short-term project in Kabul and its surrounding provinces.
Job Description:
The role involves a range of responsibilities to ensure the well-being of children and families in need:
- Identify and select children requiring specialized services through referral systems.
- Review and investigate alleged cases of abuse or neglect by conducting interviews with key individuals, including children, parents, relatives, and medical professionals.
- Plan and coordinate essential services to support children and their families.
- Provide updated information on available services based on comprehensive service mapping.
- Maintain secure case history reports within a protected database.
- Assess client needs through interviews and determine necessary services and support.
- Act as a liaison between clients and other service providers.
- Manage individual cases requiring multiple services with a strong focus on case management.
- Collaborate with supervisors and officers for child protection, referring cases to appropriate service providers.
- Maintain accurate records while ensuring confidentiality of case documents.
- Offer referrals for additional assistance to internal and external service providers as required.
- Conduct psychosocial awareness sessions within targeted communities.
- Facilitate community discussions on women’s rights and psychosocial challenges.
- Identify psychosocial issues and access barriers, offering recommendations to address them.
- Support Tabish staff in recognizing signs of potential abuse within beneficiary communities through outreach and awareness initiatives.
Job Requirements:
Applicants should meet the following criteria:
- A university degree in Health, Psychology, or Social Sciences.
- Understanding of humanitarian principles, human rights, and the needs of internally displaced persons and refugees in Afghanistan.
- Interest in humanitarian work and a willingness to learn and adapt.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to analyze and present information concisely.
- Proven ability to prioritize tasks, show initiative, and work both independently and within a team.
- Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
