Job Description: Aiding the Displaced and Vulnerable

This role demands adherence to NRC policies and guidelines, implementation of ICLA (Information, Counselling, and Legal Assistance) projects as planned, and the preparation of essential status reports. Additionally, ensuring proper documentation, targeting the most vulnerable beneficiaries, exploring innovative assistance methods, and fostering technical improvements are key responsibilities.

Specific Responsibilities and Role

The job entails:

  • Providing information sessions and counseling
  • Contributing to capacity-building trainings
  • Assisting in legal aid for house, land property (HLP), and identity documentation (LID) for refugees, returnees, IDPs, and host communities
  • Liaising with governmental and non-governmental organizations to create referral networks
  • Collecting socio-economic and security information for program strategy
  • Remaining updated on legal frameworks and human rights laws
  • Participating in field visits and preparing reports
  • Representing NRC in meetings and seminars
  • Maintaining client confidentiality and anonymity
  • Collaborating with other NRC competencies for needs assessment and beneficiary identification
  • Inclusion and implementation of cash-based interventions and market programs

Job Requirements: Skills and Expertise

Professional competencies necessary include understanding HLP rights laws, experience in humanitarian operations, interpersonal skills, knowledge of cash-based interventions and market programs, ability to work under stress, and willingness to travel independently to the field regularly.

Qualifications and Behavioral Competencies

The ideal candidate should hold a Bachelor’s Degree in law or Sharia Law, possess 1-2 years of humanitarian experience, exhibit proficiency in Ms. Office, Dari, and Pashto languages, and have strong interpersonal skills, respect for diversity, and the ability to work in diverse environments.
