Job Description:
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develop a fundraising strategy and plan aligned with IR Afghanistan’s country strategy.
- Identify and pursue funding opportunities aligned with IR Afghanistan’s priorities.
- Track funding opportunities, such as calls for proposals, and coordinate with management for collective actions on proposal or concept note submissions.
- Lead the design and development of high-quality concept notes and proposals in line with donor strategies and IR Afghanistan’s strategic orientation.
- Establish systems and methodologies for participatory proposal and concept note development by engaging other departments and stakeholders.
- Build the capacity of staff in proposal/concept note development.
- Conduct donor mapping in areas of intervention and take necessary measures to build relationships/partnerships with new donors.
- Develop new partnerships and explore opportunities for consortium development, ensuring strength and quality in the country office program portfolio.
- Liaise with potential and current donors to identify funding opportunities, manage expectations, and ensure coordination and accountability.
- Identify areas of synergy and cooperation with other organizations, represent the interests and capacity of IR Afghanistan, and enable effective consortium coordination and collaboration.
- Engage and coordinate with UN Agencies, I/NGOs, clusters, academia, and other stakeholders to strengthen networking and relationships, and undertake joint initiatives based on IR Afghanistan’s priorities.
- Manage donor grant contracts and support teams to follow donor grant contract compliance.
- Represent IR Afghanistan, when delegated, to government, donors, international agencies, funding partners, potential donors, other bodies, including civil society networks, and the public.
- Carry out other duties and responsibilities reasonably delegated by the line manager.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or higher degree in Social Science/Humanities/Development Studies/International Relations or other relevant disciplines.
- 5 years of experience in the development sector focusing on program development, partnership, and networking building.
- Proven experience in concept notes and proposal development.
- Proven experience in program development, donor liaison, building donor relations, networking, and organizational representation.
- Proven experience in grant and contract management.
- Ability to work proactively under own initiative with minimal supervision.
- Strong computer and IT skills.
- Excellent English language skills (written and spoken).
