Job Description:
As a Financial Management Specialist at IRC Afghanistan, you will play a crucial role in ensuring effective financial operations and compliance. From budgeting to grants management, your responsibilities include:
Business Development (Budgeting):
- Collaborate with the Finance Coordinator to prepare, revise, and maintain grant budget proposals.
- Work with program and supply chain staff for grant budget alignment and realignments, ensuring comprehensive coverage.
- Consolidate and update grant pipeline information monthly, proposing necessary budget revisions.
- Assist in preparing and revising the IRC country office Operating Budget.
- Contribute to the preparation of country program financial reforecasts.
- Maintain and update the HR funding matrix, recommending realignments as needed.
- Prepare Ministry of Economy Reports.
- Conduct Budget Vs Actual analysis and monthly TR funds review with the Finance Coordinator.
Grants Management:
Provide technical support in grant opening, interim, closing, and review meetings.
Analyze actual vs budget results to identify accounting or compliance issues.
Undertake any other duty assigned by the supervisor.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance; MBA, or certification (CFA or CMA) a plus.
- Minimum of Seven (7) years of technical financial management experience.
- At least 3 years directly related experience in financial management of USAID contractual projects.
- In-depth knowledge of USAID rules and regulations, ECHO, UN guidelines.
- Experience in managing multimillion-dollar grants.
- Strong problem-solving and creative solution-finding skills.
- Ability to prioritize projects, meet deadlines, and work under pressure with attention to detail.
- Solid analytical capabilities and excellent data presentation and writing skills.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
