Job Description:

The Livelihood Project Officer, reporting to the Area Program Coordinator and technically supervised by the Senior Education Officer, plays a pivotal role in ensuring the successful implementation of the SAFE project. Responsibilities include providing administrative and technical support, supervising project staff, collaborating with stakeholders, and maintaining proper documentation and reporting systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Properly implement the SAFE project interventions in the field.
  2. Provide technical support for developing new concepts and proposals.
  3. Offer on-the-job training, technical assistance, and guidance to project staff.
  4. Ensure proper filing of project documents for audit purposes.
  5. Support Self-Help Group (SHG) center members and link products with the market.
  6. Develop marketing and job placement plans, leading teams for market engagement.
  7. Contribute to updating the employer database and inform project rights holders of updates.
  8. Conduct market searches, identify opportunities, and negotiate with employers and entrepreneurs.
  9. Strengthen organizational relations with entrepreneurs, employers, and market actors.
  10. Conduct meetings with employers, market actors, and government departments.
  11. Monitor and supervise livelihood and education activities at the field level.
  12. Provide support to SHGs in developing initiative plans and implementation.
  13. Represent the organization at exhibitions and lead project handover phases.
  14. Report project progress, challenges, and suggestions regularly.
  15. Keep records of achievements and challenges for lessons learned.
  16. Develop a quality project report and success stories for donor requirements.
  17. Attend staff meetings, capacity-building training, and contribute to emergency response projects.
  18. Perform any other tasks as required.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 4 years of experience in economics, micro-entrepreneurship, socioeconomics, or development studies.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficient in written English.
  • Ability to understand and synthesize information into coherent project documents.
  • Negotiation skills in sensitive situations.
  • Ability to achieve results through persuasion and influence.
  • Skill in facilitating effective meetings and conflict resolution.
  • Cultural sensitivity and adaptability to diverse groups.
  • Good team player with self-starting abilities and the capability to work with minimum supervision.
