New Way Social and Development Organization (NSDO) is a registered development, advocacy, and humanitarian organization established in 2011. Operating under the Ministry of Economy, Government of Afghanistan, NSDO is headquartered in Kabul, with programming hubs across northern and northeastern provinces. NSDO focuses on empowering vulnerable and marginalized communities impacted by war, natural calamities, poverty, and injustice. The organization is committed to integrated development, encompassing socio-economic, cultural, and good governance aspects.

Job Description:

  1. As a Program Support Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the success and compliance of NSDO’s programs. Responsibilities include:
  2. Provide comprehensive support for assigned programs, ensuring compliance with NSDO and donor policies.
  3. Act as the primary point of contact between field offices, NSDO, and donor agencies.
  4. Develop and update country-level work plans and budgets in consultation with the Program Manager and Technical team.
  5. Coordinate and manage project activities, including assessments, training, curriculum development, asset distribution, and community engagement.
  6. Monitor and evaluate project progress and outcomes using quantitative and qualitative data, reporting results to the Program Manager.
  7. Prepare and submit regular reports on project activities, achievements, challenges, and lessons learned.
  8. Contribute to the development and improvement of program strategies, policies, and best practices.
  9. Participate in project coordination, learning events, and represent NSDO in various forums.
  10. Travel frequently to the field for program monitoring and technical assistance.
  11. Serve as the main point of contact for partner/stakeholder institutions.
  12. Provide updates and critical analysis of field reports to the Executive Director and Program Manager.
  13. Register projects with the Ministry of Economy (MoEc) and other stakeholders, providing regular updates.
  14. Analyze project expenditures against the budget, coordinating with relevant departments/staff.
  15. Ensure adherence to NSDO and donor policies and procedures.
  16. Participate in, coordinate, and/or lead program development and proposal preparation efforts.
  17. Take responsibility for humanitarian interventions in operational areas and provinces.
  18. Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Manager.

Job Requirements:

  • Master’s/Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a relevant field of study.
  • PMP certification is an asset.
  • Minimum 3 years of work experience in a related field with a master’s degree or 5 years with a bachelor’s degree with national or international NGOs.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English, Dari, and/or Pashto.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent writing skills in English.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Willingness and ability to learn.
  • Able to work under pressure.
