Dedicated to humanitarian and rehabilitation efforts, KRO focuses on the development of the local economy and building sustainable local capacity. With a specialized network across various provinces, KRO engages in activities related to food security, research, capacity building, disaster management, and placement.

Job Description: IT Officer

Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, and peripherals.
• Configure and maintain CCTV cameras, printers, and routers for optimal performance.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, providing timely technical support to end-users.
• Set up and configure network equipment, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Monitor and maintain network security, including antivirus software and intrusion detection systems.
• Conduct regular data backups, ensuring data integrity and availability.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights in accordance with company policies.
• Assist in planning and implementing IT projects, including system upgrades and network expansions.
• Evaluate and recommend new hardware and software solutions to enhance efficiency and productivity.
• Perform regular system audits to ensure compliance with company policies and data protection regulations.
• Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in IT technology to provide innovative solutions.
• Collaborate with other departments to identify and address IT needs and requirements.
• Travel to sub-offices in Kandahar and Paktika regions, providing timely support.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, including system configurations, troubleshooting guides, and user manuals.
• Train employees on the proper use of hardware, software, and IT systems.
• Ensure adherence to IT policies, procedures, and best practices.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience in an IT support role or similar position.
• Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software, and networking systems.
• Familiarity with operating systems, such as Windows and Linux.
• Proficient in troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
• Experience with network administration and security protocols.
• Solid understanding of IT best practices and data protection regulations.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• On-time traveling and supporting KRO sub-offices in Kandahar and Paktika regions.
