About New Way Social and Development Organization (NSDO):
New Way Social and Development Organization (NSDO), established in 2011 and registered with the Ministry of Economy, Government of Afghanistan, is a Kabul-based development, advocacy, and humanitarian organization. Operating across the north and northeastern provinces, NSDO is committed to empowering vulnerable and marginalized communities affected by war, natural calamities, poverty, and injustice. NSDO adopts an integrated development approach encompassing socio-economic, cultural, and good governance dimensions. At the core of NSDO’s strategy is Community Empowerment, engaging with grass-root groups and communities to address the root causes of poverty, inequalities, and injustice.
Job Description:
Responsibilities:
Community Assessments:
- Conduct community assessments to identify needs, opportunities, challenges, and potentials of target communities related to selected crops and value chains.
Community Engagement:
- Organize coordination meetings with CDC and Community Leaders, providing necessary information about the project’s goals, objectives, activities, outputs, and outcomes.
- Mobilize communities to support the project’s implementation through meetings, workshops, trainings, and field visits.
Issue Resolution:
- Address issues and problems during project implementation in consultation and coordination with the community, CDC members, and chairmen.
Supervision and Reporting:
- Closely supervise project activities at the field level and report findings to the MEAL Officer and Project Manager.
- Support the project manager in cascading trainings for Field Farm Schools (FFSs) and Village Economic and Social Associations (VESAs).
Documentation and Reporting:
- Submit weekly and monthly plans and reports of activities as defined by the project manager.
- Provide support and assistance to project staff when required.
Project Support:
- Extend support to the project team by providing insights, instructions, and guidelines to improve and enhance project delivery.
Other Duties:
- Undertake any other duties assigned by the Project Manager.
Job Requirements:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in local languages and English.
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in social sciences or public administration.
- 2 to 3 years of relevant working experience.
- Full knowledge of cultural and religious sensitivities and values.
- Compliance with organizational rules and regulations, including anti-harassment policy.
- Morally and disciplinary fit for the job.
- Good knowledge and skills in computer applications, particularly MS Word and MS PowerPoint.
- Ability to work under pressure.
